It is exclusively revealed by News that Ms. Bickerstaffe will be leaving M&S this year, giving Stuart Machin full control.
According to a source close to Kingfisher, the DIY store that owns B&Q, Ms. Bickerstaffe is departing to concentrate on her portfolio career and has secured a position as a non-executive director. This information was released on Wednesday night.
Both businesses will probably make announcements in the upcoming days.
When she leaves M&S, the business is in better operational and financial form than it has been in a long time.
Over her two years as M&S’s head of digital, data, and foreign operations, Ms. Bickerstaffe has accumulated millions of pounds’ worth of share options.
She was previously in charge of Dixons Carphone’s UK and Ireland operations. She then oversaw SSE’s retail energy services group and its eventual absorption into this.
