LOS ANGELES: Following days of protests in Los Angeles, as California readied itself for a legal battle with the White House over US President Donald Trump’s military deployment, protests against tough immigration policies erupted across the United States on Wednesday.
On the sixth day of protests, more than 1,000 people gathered in the second-largest city in the United States, marching peacefully through the streets.
As city officials attempt to control the after-dark looting and vandalism that left many city blocks in the 500-square-mile (1,300 square kilometer) metropolis scarred, a second night of curfew was anticipated.
