While on a trade mission in Washington, Michelle O’Neill and her power-sharing partner, deputy first minister Emma Little-Pengelly, will meet President Joe Biden for St. Patrick’s Day activities.
“First and foremost, I will always acknowledge the positive role that US administrations played in the peace process,” declared the first minister.
“We’re thankful that the United States played a role in the Good Friday Accord, as I don’t think we would have had it otherwise.
“But I think that same critical approach, practical approach, that they applied to the Irish peace process, they now need to apply to the Middle East.”
