WASHINGTON: Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, expressed his sympathies to his Russian colleague on the terrorist assault in Moscow that claimed more than a hundred lives.
According to the Russian Tass news agency, Daesh militants assaulted a music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, last week on March 22, resulting in at least 137 deaths and 182 injuries.
Four armed individuals and other 11 participants in the attack were taken into custody by the authorities. According to the report, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared March 24 a national mourning day and pledged to bring all those responsible to justice.
Today, on a visit to the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC, Ambassador Khan expressed his sympathies. The ambassador of Pakistan was cordially met by the ambassador of Russia, Anatoly Antonov.
“Today Russian grief is our grief because time and again Pakistan has also been made target of terrorism,” he stated.
“I have come to show my support for the Russian Federation and its citizens in the wake of the heinous attack on Crocus Hall,” stated the envoy. Pakistan, he continued, opposes terrorism in all of its forms and manifestations.
