RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), designated three focal points on Saturday after reaching a consensus with the Adiala jail administration regarding the standard operating procedures for holding meetings there.
The paper, signed by the superintendent of Adiala Jail and the former prime minister, states that Khan has designated Barrister Gohar Khan, the chairman of the PTI, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Barrister Umair Niazi as his focal points.
Each focal person will submit two names for a weekly meeting with the party founder who is incarcerated; he will be permitted to meet with his attorneys and family on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in accordance with the established standard operating procedures.
This happened after both parties agreed that, in light of the applicable court order, meetings should take place inside the correctional facility.
Additionally, meetings will last between thirty and forty-five minutes, with a maximum of six guests per session.
Additionally, the agreement states that the “trend of individual petitions in the courts will be discouraged,” which appears to be a reference to the PTI’s efforts to approach courts regarding the matter of meeting with the party founder who is currently incarcerated.
