According to an Australian commentator, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Hollywood aspirations have suffered a setback because they failed to comprehend the enduring qualities of the royal family. Esther Krakue highlighted their designation as two of Hollywood’s “biggest losers” in 2023 by The Hollywood Reporter and the Archewell Foundation’s substantial losses of nearly £9 million.
Krakue pointed out that their diminishing star power is linked to their deviation from the royal rule of “never complain, never explain” – a commitment to service and dignity observed by the Windsors but seemingly overlooked by Harry and Meghan.
In an analysis for Sky News Australia, Krakue stated, “For them to be considered the biggest losers means that many people who might have naturally gravitated toward them and shared the limelight are not seeing any value there.”
She highlighted the couple’s previous multimillion-pound deals with Netflix and Spotify, as well as high-profile interviews with Oprah, noting how omnipresent they were in the headlines. However, she observed, “That’s all just shattered under their own feet because they really just didn’t understand many of the fundamental, key characteristics that have allowed the Royal Family to endure for so long.”
