The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) each secured ten seats for women on the most recent list of reserved seats, which was made public by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Details that emerged on Wednesday indicate that the list was released after the election watchdog made a decision the day before. The notification announcing the win of Gurpal Singh, a minority member of the JUI-F, has been retracted as part of the update.
In the meantime, five allocated seats for women have been given to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). One female seat has been lost by the JUI-F and one by the PPP, while the PML-N has gained one more.
Additionally, the JUI-F lost its minority seat. Sajida Begum of the PPP and Bilqis of the JUI-F received their victory notifications.
