Originating in Pakistan Italian opening batsman Zain Naqvi, who assisted Italy in earning a spot in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, stated his ambition to play against Pakistan in the major tournament and eventually make an appearance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In an exclusive interview with Geo News, Zain revealed that he never dreamed of playing cricket for his country when he and his family went to Italy when he was about 12 or 13.
Although education was the main focus when we relocated to Italy, cricket had always been my favorite sport. “I never imagined that I would play for the Italian national team,” Zain remarked.
