The governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem, has acknowledged shooting and murdering her 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, Cricket, more than 20 years ago. Noem is currently being considered as a potential contender for Donald Trump’s vice presidential ticket in November.
In an interview on Sunday, she proposed that Commander, the German shepherd owned by the US president, should suffer the same death.

She stated on Face The Nation with CBS News that Joe Biden’s dog had assaulted 24 members of the Secret Service. So before you decide whether to have a dog and what to do with it, how many people is enough to be attacked and gravely injured?”

Upon being informed that the dog was no longer residing at the White House, anchor Margaret Brennan questioned Ms. Noem about her suggestion that the dog be shot. She responded, “That’s what the president should be accountable to.”
