Washington Democrats have a history of using social programs and large-scale government spending for political advantage. However, there haven’t been many episodes in American history up to this point that can compare to President Joe Biden’s blatant attempts to purchase sympathy by unilaterally waiving student loan debt.
There is no historical precedent for it. Only a few weeks ago, the president announced further executive steps, despite the Supreme Court having blocked earlier attempts to absolve borrowers of their debt. His government organizations have been attempting to break up the student loan repayment process.
