To provide an accurate picture of the deployment and failure of the Fujitsu-made software, an investigation into defective Horizon software is underway, along with the prosecution of 700 sub-postmasters for theft and fraudulent accounting.
Many more sub-postmasters accrued huge debts, lost their homes, livelihoods, and reputations in addition to the erroneous convictions, as they took on heavy debt to cover Horizon’s miscalculated shortages at their Post Office branches.
