The interbank trading session on Thursday saw a little drop of 14 paisa in the value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) relative to the US dollar.
The currency closed at PKR 278.4 per USD, little less than the closing value of PKR 278.26 per USD from the previous day.
PKR saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.65 and a low (ask) of 278.45 throughout the trading day.
Exchange businesses priced the dollar at 276.96 for purchasing and 279.45 for selling on the open market.
The trajectory for PKR was inconsistent when compared to other major currencies. The Pakistani rupee fell 1.46 rupees against the euro, closing at 302.71 as opposed to 301.25 earlier.
In a similar vein, the British Pound had a 2.56 rupee increase in price, closing at 353 as opposed to 350.45 the day before.
On the other hand, the value of the Swiss franc increased by 1.95 rupees, ending the day at 309.3, up from 307.36 the day before.
PKR saw a little decrease versus the Japanese Yen, finishing at 1.8027 as opposed to 1.7827 the previous day, losing just 2 paisa.
After gaining 5 paisas, the Chinese Yuan closed at 38.57, up from 38.52 in the previous session.
