The leader of the Islamic State group’s widow has given her story of their life in a rare interview conducted from prison. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s first wife, Umm Hudaifa, presided over the terrorist organization’s ruthless reign over a sizable portion of Syria and Iraq throughout their marriage. She is currently being held in an Iraqi jail as charges relating to terrorism are being looked into.
Umm Hudaifa and her spouse were residing in Raqqa, the IS’s stronghold in Syria at the time, during the summer of 2014.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was the sought head of the hardline jihadist group and frequently traveled to different places.
Umm Hudaifa adds, “He informed me they were taking a trip to teach the boys how to swim.
She used to watch television in covertly while it was in the house. She explains, “I used to turn it on when he wasn’t at home because he thought it didn’t work.” She claims that since 2007, he has kept her disconnected from the outside world and had forbidden her from using any other technology, including cell phones or televisions.
She claims that when she turned on the television a few days after the guard abducted the kids, she was met with “a huge surprise.
