Lawyer Saim Chaudhry made the argument in accordance with Section 184 of the Constitution. Respondents in the action include the DG Passport and the federal government.
The federal government’s June 5 passport policy has been requested to be overturned by the court since there is no evidence to support the decision to forbid passport issuing to asylum seekers.
The interior ministry had already declared that passports would be granted to its citizens who were granted shelter abroad.
In a letter, the Ministry of Interior said that Pakistani passports would not be granted to any Pakistani national who, for any reason, obtains asylum abroad.
