Alongside former news commentator Sage Steele, Reps. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, and Byron Donalds, R-Fla., are presenting an event called “Congress, Cognac, and Cigars” at a cigar bar in the Peach State.
The event was touted as “a real conversation about the Black male vote, leadership, and how they will impact the 2024 election” on an invitation that News was able to obtain.
In an interview with News, Hunt stated that black voters will be “paramount” in selecting the victor of the upcoming presidential contest, especially in a state like Georgia.
The problem is that, historically, the Republican Party has not done a very good job of visiting these communities and explaining why our ideas are better for the Black population, according to Hunt. “American issues are black issues. All we need are voices to go say that.”
“Your mother, your grandmother, and your dad told you to vote for Democrats, but that is no longer the case. It is currently in your best advantage to join the Republican Party. If you detest the situation at the border, the state of inflation, or criminality in general, I’m telling you.
