The fatal collision occurred in Maryland on Saturday just before 3:15 a.m. local time.
According to state police, Jackson, 24, passed away at the scene after being a passenger in a maroon Dodge Charger after a three-car collision.
Along for the ride were Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, who both perished.
The trio had been football teammates in Maryland high school.
Officers surmise that the silver Infiniti driver “attempted to change lanes while driving at a high rate of speed” before she was hit by it.
The Charger was thrown off the road by the impact and struck many tree trunks before coming to a stop.
In the other vehicles, nobody was hurt.
After learning of Jackson’s passing, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said he was “at a loss for words” and “absolutely crushed”.
“Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team,” he wrote on X.
