ISLAMABAD According to sources who spoke to Geo News on Tuesday, the government has approved the retraction of the decision to raise fees for protected slabs with up to 200 units of power usage.

According to them, this occurred after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif requested emergency approval from the federal cabinet for the circulation summary in this respect.

The News, citing sources, had announced on July 4 that the federal cabinet has decided to raise the electricity tariff in order to carry out a significant requirement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the sources, a circulated summary was used to gain consent for the federal cabinet’s decision to raise the basic power tariff.
