Tuesday saw the visit of a high-level Chinese team to Gwadar, where they looked at potential future investments and assessed the status of ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The 26-member team, which included corporate executives, Pakistani officials, and members of the Chinese embassy, met with local authorities and made visits to important locations such the Gwadar Port, South Free Zone, Pakistan China Friendship Hospital, and New Gwadar International Airport.
The Phase 2 project of CPEC, development plans, and investment opportunities were the main topics of discussion. The group conveyed contentment with the security protocols implemented for Chinese workers engaged in diverse projects.
Balochistan’s Finance Minister, Zahoor Buledi, spoke to the assembly and emphasized the need of industrial collaboration between China and Pakistan, calling it essential for the region’s economic development.
