On Tuesday, the Lahore High Court ruled against moving Aliya Hamza, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), from District Jail Gujranwala to any other city.
The written ruling was given by LHC court Justice Ali Baqir Najafi at a hearing on the PTI leader’s husband Hamza Jameel’s appeal.
The Punjab government and the Attorney’s Office were given orders by the court to provide paragraph-by-paragraph remarks and to report on the next hearing.
The husband of Aliya Hamza filed a petition in court, claiming that his wife is dealing with several situations that are driven by politics. Jameel claims that every time Alia Hamza obtains bail in an ongoing case, her name is brought up in new ones.
The court has been requested to provide the specifics of every case that has been filed against Aliya Hamza in response to the petition.
