Pakistan’s currency notes will get a new design by December, according to a statement made by State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed on Wednesday.
Under the direction of Senator Salim Mandviwala, he was speaking to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance. It was also revealed that the new note design would include complete security features.
He went on to say that the State Bank is taking the initiative and that the new note designs will be introduced following official approval. Potential for plastic and digital money was another problem.
The governor of SBP provided further details on the effort, stating that the State Bank is actively developing these new designs and that they will be released after official approval.
