Aaron Judge came under fire from Bob Laterza, the coach of South Shore Little League in Staten Island, which is competing in the Little League World Series on behalf of the Metro region. Laterza said that Judge had ignored his players during the Little League Classic and had not met with them.
“How about turning around or wave to New York and the kids that think you’re a hero?” Laterza stated. They bear the financial burden of your income.
Following Laterza’s remarks, the Yankees replied that the coach could “learn a lot” from their captain.
The Yankees released a statement saying, “Our entire roster spent the day in Williamsport connecting with as many Little Leaguers as they possibly could, including the Staten Island team, prior to our game.” “We are proud of all of our players for giving the hundreds of children who walked right along them during the Yankees’ arrival in Williamsport that entire evening their undivided attention.
Our players made a resolute commitment to ensuring that the event was everything it set out to be: a once-in-a-lifetime chance for young athletes from all over the world to engage meaningfully and sincere with some of the greatest players in Major League Baseball.
