They added that Jenny had “struggled with her mental health for a number of years” and that Ms. Hastings had not returned after her swim in Wardie Bay in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
In a statement, the family said: “It is with deep sadness that we inform you that on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the afternoon, Jenny went swimming in the Firth of Forth. The police are currently investigating this incident as a high-risk missing person case.”
