The ATP has pushed Wimbledon’s hand by deciding to implement Electronic Line Calling Live for the men’s tour starting in 2025 in the pursuit of more accuracy and consistency.
The Australian Open and the US Open have already implemented electronic line calling in 2021 and 2022, respectively, thus Wimbledon ran the risk of being an exception given the way the women’s WTA Tour is taking.

After looking over the testing results from The Championships this year, we believe the technology is reliable enough and that the time is ripe to take this crucial step toward achieving the highest level of accuracy in our officiating.
It will provide the players with the same setup that they have experienced at several prior tour events.
