The Guardian called it a “thin portrait of a musical genius,” while Variety declared that “the original King of Pop gets the satisfying documentary he deserves.”
Archival material that emphasizes Sir Elton’s success in the early years of his career, specifically the 1970s, is woven throughout the tour video.
Among the attendees at the film’s London premiere on Thursday at the Royal Festival Hall were Sir Elton and Furnish.
