According to Shailene Woodley, her rescued rescue cat “changed her life.”
About a year and a half ago, the 33-year-old actress, who is most known for her roles in the Divergent movie series and The Fault in Our Stars, rescued her two cats, Pharrah and Bear, and described them as her “emotional support animals.”
In order to increase awareness of the positive effects pet adoption can have on both the animal and the owner, Woodley has since teamed up with Mars Pet Care and Calm, a mental health organization, in advance of Global Adoption Weekend, which takes place from October 3–5.
“I was fortunate enough to save my two small cats, and their presence has completely transformed my life,” she said in an interview with the PA news agency.
