Based on initial astronomical calculations, the Emirates Astronomy Society estimates that the holy month of Ramadan (also known as Ramazan or Ramzan) would start in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, February 19, 2026, which is precisely 139 days away.
The new crescent moon that signifies the start of Ramadan, also known as Ramzan, will be visible on Tuesday, February 17, at 4:01 p.m. UAE time, according to the society’s chairman.
But it won’t be visible that night because it will set just a minute after sunset. Therefore, it is anticipated that the first day of Ramadan (also known as Ramazan or Ramzan) will fall on Thursday, February 19, subject to official confirmation from moon-sighting committees.
