A campaign has been started by some anti-Muslim sections of the Indian press, claiming that Dr. Naik met with members of Lashkar-e-Taiba during his meetings with notable persons at the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore.
Dr. Naik is expected to meet with senior government representatives and take part in public events through October 28 during his visit.
The anti-Modi media has escalated its attacks, alleging he met with members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, like as Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi, Muhammad Haris Dahr, and Faisal Nadeem.
These publications furthered the controversy surrounding Dr. Naik’s trip by disseminating a fake film that they said showed him hugging Lashkar-e-Taiba members during his visit to a mosque.
The well-known Islamic scholar from around the world, Dr. Zakir Naik, is now in Pakistan and has been speaking at several events.
