During his performance at a Democratic candidate’s event, Springsteen utilized the interlude between songs to make the case that Ms. Harris would defend democracy and stand up for women’s reproductive rights.
He criticized Mr. Trump for lacking these principles, saying he wanted a president who “reveres the constitution” and does not “threaten” freedom.

Springsteen declared that Mr. Trump is “running to be an American tyrant” and that “he does not understand this country, its history, or what it means to be American.”

Barack Obama, the former president, claimed that Mr. Trump’s “goofy” behavior “does not mean his presidency wouldn’t be dangerous” after Springsteen onstage.

He cited remarks made by John Kelly, the former chief of staff to Mr. Trump, who stated that the previous president had stated that he wanted his generals to resemble Hitler’s.

A solid rule of thumb in politics is to avoid saying that you want to emulate Hitler in any way. Mr. Obama answered, “That’s just good political advice.”

However, it is helpful since it provides us with insight into Donald Trump’s thought process. And it’s not only John Kelly who says this.
