Important agreements have been inked by Doha and Islamabad to improve job prospects for Pakistani workers in Qatar, while also fortifying bilateral relations.

Following Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Jawad Sohrab Malik’s official visit to Qatar, which resulted in the signing of multiple Agreements & Letters of Intent (LOIs) with leading Qatari companies, steps were taken to increase job opportunities for Pakistanis.

One of the most important steps toward improving bilateral ties between Islamabad and Doha in the area of human resource development is the signing of the agreements with well-known Qatari companies.

Additionally, SAPM Malik and Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, had a crucial meeting where the main topic of discussion was hiring Pakistani labor for a variety of business initiatives.

A tour of Elegancia Health Care’s View Hospital was also included in the visit. This facility is used to hire Pakistani medical personnel as a result of a recent Memorandum of Understanding between Elegancia Health Care and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) of Pakistan.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development stated in a statement that the main goal of these programs is to improve job opportunities for Pakistani workers in Qatar.

Malik outlined the government’s attempts to expedite the process by addressing the demands of foreign employers, developing skills, and utilizing reputable recruitment agencies. He also emphasized Pakistan’s potential as a major exporter of labor.

According to Qatari government rules, the CEOs of the enterprises in Qatar conveyed their contentment with the Pakistani labor and their readiness to augment their workforce with more Pakistanis.

Following Qatar’s major infrastructural growth, the talks also highlighted the growing need for skilled personnel in industries like services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction.

During his three days in Qatar, the SAPM also had separate one-on-one talks with the ministers of labor, interior, and education.
