LONDON: Bohemia, a Pakistani-American music pioneer and international Punjabi rap icon, was honored for his outstanding contributions to Punjabi music and rap at a historic event held at the Houses of Parliament.
The occasion also honored the rapper, who was born in Pakistan, for his contribution to strengthening South Asian cultural links. Bohemia is a Pakistani-American rapper and music producer from California. His true name is Roger David.
David was born into a Christian Punjabi family in Karachi in 1979. Peshawar is where he acquired his education. He and his family relocated to the United States when he was 13 years old.
He identifies as “The Punjabi Rapper,” “the pioneer of Punjabi rap,” and “creator of Punjabi rap” and sings in Punjabi.
