ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has exhorted the National Assembly to guarantee justice for his party and cautioned against forcing them to take to the streets once more in protest.

Speaking on the lower house of parliament’s floor on Wednesday, Barrister Gohar criticized the state’s response to the nonviolent protests, pointing out the violence and alleged injustices that PTI supporters had to deal with.

“Bullets were fired at our people after they were harmed. Such acts against nonviolent demonstrators are unimaginable in any civilized country,” he stated.

The PTI leader demanded that an impartial committee be established to look into what happened on May 9. Additionally, he called on lawmakers to solve institutional shortcomings, asserting that the assembly has not yet sufficiently protected its members and their families.
