ISLAMABAD: According to international media on Thursday, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, will make his second trip to the United States in less than two months this week.
The COAS will attend the retirement ceremony of General Michael Kurilla, the head of US Central Command, who was recognized for publicly appreciating Pakistan and who received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) award during President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to the nation on July 26.
Regarding any additional engagements during Field Marshal Munir’s travel to the United States, no formal statement has been made as of yet.
During his June visit to the United States, the army commander met with US President Donald Trump in the White House Cabinet Room, a rare one-on-one encounter.
