According to sources who spoke to Geo News on Wednesday, the Kohat Grand Peace Jirga, which was called to discuss the ongoing issue in Kurram district, was unable to come to an agreement the day before.
The goal of the negotiations, which have been going on for a week or so, is to bring calm back and restore the primary roadway in the area, which is currently closed.
Kurram’s everyday life has been significantly impacted by the worsening security situation. Residents are having difficulty accessing basic services, and there is a severe shortage of food, gasoline, and medical supplies.
The community’s struggles have been made worse by the forced shutdown of eateries and garages due to gas shortages.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adviser on information, spoke before the grand jirga and called for cooperation and unity in order to bring about peace.
