ISLAMABAD: Haider Ali, who earned a bronze medal for his nation in the Paralympics, received a monetary prize of Rs5 million from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) in appreciation of his accomplishment.
A PSB representative said in a statement that the monetary reward was given out in accordance with the board’s recently established policy, which went into effect.
Haider was given the check for the $1,000 award by Rana Sanaullah Khan, the Prime Minister’s advisor on interprovincial coordination.
Speaking at the event, Sanaullah praised Haider’s commitment and tenacity, saying that his accomplishment has brought pride to the entire country.
The PM’s assistant emphasized that the government is still dedicated to supporting athletes and advancing sports through these kinds of programs.
