ISLAMABAD A report from the Pakistani Embassy in Athens stated that three boats capsized in Greece, killing at least 40 Pakistanis.

According to the embassy report, five dead have been recovered, while the bodies of 35 persons are still missing and have little to no chance of survival.

The Greek Coast Guard has canceled the maritime rescue efforts, therefore the missing travelers should be assumed dead, the report states. Official sources claim that more than 5,000 Pakistanis are still in Libya and are prepared to leave the country for Europe under the guidance of multiple Pakistani and Libyan operatives. According to the sources, they entered Libya lawfully after obtaining visas from Pakistan.

Arriving from Libya’s territorial borders, three vessels capsized in Greek waters.
