Devin DeHoll, co-owner and founder of Asheville Adventure Company, realized that his business would never be the same after looking at the damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene. The company ran rafting and e-bike tours and operated several rock-climbing gyms throughout the Asheville area, but the storm destroyed four of their five locations in the hard-hit River Arts District. DeHoll said the storm “very nearly destroyed our entire company.” DeHoll was forced to relocate across the country and drastically scale back the company while he looks for other business opportunities.
