Following US President-elect Donald Trump’s refusal to rule out military force to wrest Greenland from Denmark, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is keeping a careful eye on the situation.
Russia’s “sphere of national and strategic interests and it is interested in peace and stability there” according to Peskov.
European governments have warned about Trump’s comments regarding Greenland, a Danish territory that is mainly autonomous.
Olaf Scholz of Germany has stated unequivocally that “borders must not be moved by force,” while EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas has emphasized that “we have to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greenland.”
