After a much-anticipated meeting in a “controlled environment” with imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, the former ruling party declared on Sunday that they were prepared for a third round of negotiations with the government to ease political tensions in the nation.
Speaking at a joint news conference with PTI senior leaders Omar Ayub Khan and Asad Qaiser, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the head of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and the negotiation team’s spokesperson, urged the government to advance their demands in the next round of talks.
To look into the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024, he urged the government to form a “impartial judicial commission” led by a senior Supreme Court judge.
