In a $50 million defamation case, Sean “Diddy” Combs has accused Courtney Burgess, her lawyer Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media Group, the parent company of NewsNation, of fabricating and disseminating untrue statements about him in order to profit from them.
The defendants are accused of disseminating false claims that Combs had films of him engaging in sexual misbehavior with juveniles and celebrities. The case was filed in the Southern District of New York on January 22.
According to People, Combs’ lawyers assert that these accusations, which NewsNation broadcast without conducting a thorough investigation, have seriously damaged his reputation and financial standing and jeopardized his right to a fair trial.
In addition, Combs is presently awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, which he disputes.
