Recently, Rick Astley gave some thought to the second life that his well-known song Never Gonna Give You Up discovered.
Released in 1987, the song unexpectedly gained popularity again because to the Rickrolling fad.
Rick talked about how the internet revitalized his career and introduced his music to a new generation in his memoir, Never: The Autobiography.
The practice of rickrolling began in 2007 when a YouTuber deceived viewers by substituting Astley’s song video for a game trailer. After decades, Rick returned to the public eye with this prank, which garnered the video over 1 billion views.
“I think I’ve never really appreciated what it is because I’ve just had to sort of shut down that part of my life,” the singer stated in an interview with PEOPLE magazine.
