Kristen Bell, a well-known American actress, recently expressed her opinions about the importance of this year’s awards show.
The 44-year-old told PEOPLE over Zoom that she momentarily contemplated canceling the award events after the deadly wildfires in Los Angeles in early January 2025, but she finally realized its “greater level of importance” amid such trying times.
“At first, it felt very unnecessary to have an awards show,” she added. “This year, we ought to cancel all of the awards and donate all of the money,” I thought.
Bell continued by acknowledging that she became more aware of the effects of awards season on California’s economy during the fires, quipping, “I understood, ‘Hold on a second. You will lose hundreds of hundreds of thousands of dollars if you cancel the awards presentations.
