Currently, 65 percent of Pakistan’s population is under 30. Of this population, 63% are in the 15–30 age range. Put another way, the majority of them are members of the group known as “Gen Z,” which has gained international prominence, particularly after the British television series “Adolescence” debuted. We also need to pay attention to the conversation that the series has sparked in Pakistan.
Although many people think that social media’s dark content is only found in the West, the scant research on the subject suggests that this is not the case. This is noteworthy because, according to statistics gathered in 2024, 31% of Pakistanis own cellphones, and the percentage is particularly high among the populace.
