India’s aspirations have been hampered by Pakistan’s active diplomacy since the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) statement on the Pahalgam attack lacked strong language similar to that used during the 2019 Pulwama incident, which claimed the lives of dozens of Indian security personnel.
In the wake of the 26-person attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the UNSC communiqué merely quotes all pertinent authorities, excluding India.
The United States proposed the statement before the Security Council, but it was not accepted.
