KHAIRPUR: Traffic on the National Highway between Sindh and Punjab has completely stopped as a result of the attorneys’ and civil society members’ sit-in protest against the proposed construction of six canals from the Indus River, which is now in its tenth day.
Lawyers and civil society activists are united in their opposition to the contentious canal projects, and the demonstration has attracted a sizable number of people.
For the previous ten days, all vehicle traffic between the two provinces has been suspended due to the National Highway blockade.
Since trucks and trailers are still stuck, the continuous blockage has had a significant negative influence on the movement of necessities like food and gasoline. Additionally, this has made things more difficult for transporters and commuters.
