The enormous power outage that plagued Spain, Portugal, and portions of France on Monday has not been attributed to a cyberattack, according to the Spanish grid operator.
Echoing Portuguese Prime Minister LuÃs Montenegro the previous day, Eduardo Prieto, the director of operations for Red Eléctrica, stated that first results indicate “there was no kind of interference in the control systems” to suggest an attack.
However, the precise cause of the incision is still unknown.
They “cannot draw conclusions” until they get hard data, the grid operator stated on Tuesday. According to Pedro Sánchez, prime minister of Spain, investigators are working to identify the cause and will take all necessary steps “to ensure that this does not happen again.”
