LONDON: As tensions rise in response to India’s war threats, a sizable contingent of British Pakistani protesters gathered outside the Indian High Commission in central London to express solidarity for Pakistan.
The event was organized by Ahsan Dar, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) UK, in reaction to rising tensions after the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which left 26 people dead and sparked hostilities between the two nations.
Large crowds of protesters gathered, chanting slogans, dancing to Pakistan’s national hymn, and waving Pakistani flags. They arrived in coaches from Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham, and Luton.
