Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, distanced himself from the “enemies of the state” and emphasized on Tuesday that he and Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had never ruled out negotiations with the establishment.
“Imran Khan has always talked about negotiations,” the chief minister stated at a seminar, adding that no talks at all were in progress at the moment but implying that it would take some time until the next round of parleys.
These comments run counter to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s declaration from last month, according to which the jailed party founder had not given any leader permission to speak with the establishment.
