HYDERABAD: Dr. Farrukh Ali Lanjar, the SSP of Hyderabad, has been transferred by the Sindh government, therefore ending a long-running legal issue.
The Hyderabad District Bar lawyers celebrated the move by distributing candy, shouting slogans, and exchanging congrats.
Ghulam Nabi Memon, the Sindh Inspector General of Police, announced on Friday that Dr. Lanjar, a PSP (BS-19) officer, had been moved to the position of personal staff officer to the Sindh home minister.
Following increasing pressure from the legal community, Adeel Ahmed Chandio, a PSP (BS-19) officer who was previously the home minister’s personal staff officer, was named the new SSP of Hyderabad.
After the notification, Hyderabad High Court Bar President Ayaz spoke at a joint press conference.
