After days of increased tensions, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar declared on Saturday night that Pakistan and India had formally agreed to a truce.
Dar told Geo News that both sides had decided to stop fighting starting at 4:30 p.m. today, just after US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire supported by the US.
Experienced politician Dar stated that while Pakistan had always been amenable to a truce, he made it plain that India would face severe retaliation for any future action.
He thanked all of the nations that helped mediate the truce, highlighting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s efforts in particular.
