Neil Young’s free concerts in Ukraine have been canceled.
Due to safety concerns and the “changing situation” of the war-torn European nation, the legendary Canadian artist was forced to take this extreme action.
Although no official date had been set, Young’s free performance was revealed earlier this month as a part of his planned summer tour with the Chrome Hearts in Europe.
The Heart of Gold singer now posted on his official Archives website, saying, “We had a good venue, close to a shelter, but the changing situation on the ground was too much.”
The 79-year-old musician went on, “I wanted to apologize to everyone, but I could not bring my crew and instruments into that area in good conscience.” Ukraine is a wonderful nation with a capable leader. Ukraine’s Slava Ukraini.
